Grab The Chance (3)
INTRODUCTION
Life is basically an opportunity that God gives. Remember, the opportunity does not always exist! (Galatians 6:10).
CONTENT
In the Bible there are two characters who seize the best possible opportunity for themselves:
- Joseph (Proverbs 25:21-22)
Joseph has the opportunity to take revenge on his brothers for the harm done to him, but he takes the opportunity to do good to them instead.
He does the truth of the Word and hence he is so blessed by God. We must also learn to do the Word of God, so He will reward and bless us!
- Mary, who anointed Jesus’ feet (John 12:1-8)
Mary has taken the opportunity well, giving her most beautiful and most precious gift to Jesus. Jesus saiys, “I am not always there. ” Indeed there is no much chance left to make use of the opportunity as Jesus is to die on the cross a few days later. In fact, Mary did not realize that it was the last chance, but her true love for Jesus had encouraged her to do so. Often we also do not realise that, but if we really love Jesus and are sensitive to the leading by the Holy Spirit, we can also use the opportunity well to give the best to Him.
CONCLUSION
The words of Paul in Philippians 1:22 have the meaning, that if one gets a chance to live in this world, he will use it to the fullest.
