GRAB THE CHANCE (1)
INTRODUCTION
Let us read from 1 Corinthians 16:9, “For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.”
CONTENT
Three things about life are chances:
- Difficulties are chances
Often we are ungrateful as we do not realize that difficulties are opportunities for us to get to know God better and deeper. An example is the life of Job. The problems or difficulties of Job did not ruin his life, but it made him twice blessed instead (Job 42:10). As a matter of fact, difficulties will only make us to soar higher.
- Abundance is a chance
We often forget that abundance is an opportunity to:
- Giving and helping people (Luke 16:19-23). Have we ever used the opportunity God has given us to help others or did we just ignore it? In this story it shows that salvation just depends on how we treat others;
- We collect treasures in heaven (Luke 12:16-21). Everything we give to others and to God, the work of God, means we are collecting treasures in Heaven.
3. Worship is a chance
Actually we should be very enthusiastic about attending services of worship, as there lies the chance to receive God’s promises (1 Timothy 4:7b-9).
The most important things in services of worship (John 20:19, 22,24, 26):
- There is a special presence of God for us. If we want to meet and enjoy God’s presence, we must come to church to worship Him. Worship is our chance to be specifically visited by God and to meet Him.
- There is a blessing of peace. Peace is a great blessing. In times of struggle, let us come to church to worship, do not miss it out.
CONCLUSION
The best opportunities to do important and good works are actually under all circumstances of life. Therefore, do not waste your life!
