INTRODUCTION

MATTHEW 14:22-32. Moving forward in faith brings us into a deeper spiritual dimension with Jesus.

CONTENT

There are some truths from Peter’s experience walking on water:

  1.  BOLD FAITH BORN IN DIFFICULT TIMES (verses 24-27)
Jesus and His disciples miraculously fed five thousand people with only five loaves of bread and two fishes.  After that, He sent them across the Sea of Galilee, and their boat was hit by a headwind. They were struggling to survive, and were physically, mentally, emotionally exhausted.

When we are experiencing problems, we may hit depression. All of our mental, emotional and even spiritual exhaustion is struggling to solve the problem. But it is precisely in the midst of difficulties our faith works actively.

  2.  BOLD FAITH ARISES WHEN HEARING THE LORD’S VOICE (verses 28–30)
Jesus said Come! Peter left the boat and walked on the water. When Peter’s was focusing on God’s voice, he did not tremble, his level of faith was so high, that all doubts vanished. He did exactly what Jesus said.

When we really focus on God’s voice, we will enter into a supernatural experience with God (Romans 10:17

  3.  BOLD FAITH LEADS US TO KNOW GOD’S PERFECT CHARACTER (verses 31–33)
After we obey God’s calling, we may still make mistakes and our faith is not perfect.  God always does what is right, even if we are questioning it.

Faith let us to understanding the perfect character of God. He is worthy of our admiration and worship, for He is God who is able to help and uphold our entire lives.
