THE PURPOSE OF BELIEVERS' LIVES (3) - Having the Right Perspectives
INTRODUCTION
If we have the right perspective, we will be able to see GOD'S BEST PLAN for our lives even in difficult times and stay focused on the purposes of life that GOD GIVES us. Perspective is a way of recognizing or a point of view.
CONTENT
1. Human perspective.
Man sees what is visible, but God sees into the depths of the heart (1 Samuel 16:7).
What looks good on the outside may not actually be good.
People often view everything based on worldly wisdom. But if we use God's wisdom as a basis, we will be able to see what the Lord is seeing (1 Corinthians 2:6-9).
2. Do own God's perspective and view.
Because our perspective will determine the response or action we will be taking so that we as believers are achieving our goals of life.
If something is not to our liking, how do we respond? Often we get angry and think that God does not love us because we look at it from a personal perspective, not from Christ's perspective.
3. God always PROVIDES us with the BEST.
This must be our perspective.
Learn from the life of Joseph, the son of Jacob.
The most famous thing about Joseph's story is of course that everyone knows that Joseph became a ruler in Egypt at the end of his life, or in other words he became the second person after the Pharaoh.
We are certainly familiar with the twists/changes in Joseph's life, he was sold as a slave by his brothers to a foreign country, where the life process that Joseph went through was very dark. When he had received grace and was loved by Potiphar, he was sent to prison for slander. Then, while he was in prison, Joseph was also forgotten by a cupbearer, who was helped by Joseph in interpreting his dream.
The conclusion is actually that the graphics of Joseph's life journey really went up and down. However, Joseph made a truly astonishing statement when he became the ruler of Egypt:
“But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life.” (Genesis 45:5)
'But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” (Genesis 50:20).
Joseph's statement proves that even in all the situations and circumstances that were not good, Joseph was able to see God's perspective in the struggles he experienced in his life, and ultimately led Joseph to GOD'S GRAND PLAN, as Joseph had seen in his dream. People may plan/devise bad things for our lives but remember that God is in control of all things AS LONG AS we continue to have/hold the RIGHT perspective about our GOD.
CONCLUSION
“O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” (Jeremiah 10:23)
Have faith! God never fails to bring goodness into our walk of life.
