THE PURPOSE OF BELIEVERS’ LIVES (1)
INTRODUCTION
This month we will talk about the purpose of life of believers.
CONTENT
1. 'The purpose' will guide our life journey.
As believers, we have a goal to go to Heaven, but the problem is that this goal is not supported by the heavenly lifestyle that God's children should have.
Every decision or action must be 'examined', whether the decision or action can get us to our goal, the heaven, or vice versa, the decision or action can be a stumbling block to our getting to heaven.
No matter how good the goal may be that we have in mind, if we do not realize it to the maximum extent possible, it will never be achieved.
Be careful, because the devil uses different methods so that you and I do not achieve our goal.
2. Many people walk 'fumbling' in the dark.
They want to walk to heaven, but they don't walk with the help of a heavenly 'compass' (the heavenly compass is God's word).
Those who live their lives without using a 'compass' (the word of God) will turn away from their purpose and will never reach their destination, which is Heaven.
Christians who claim to believe in Jesus should basically separate themselves from the world and not ‘chase the world’, and fall into the love of the world. This is a great danger, we who have believed in Jesus should separate ourselves from the world. But many Christians today feel that they have believed in Jesus, but instead chase after the world and tend to fall in love with the world. This makes it impossible for them to advance spiritually. This kind of person will never reach the goal (1 John 2:15-17).
Jesus gave us an example of how He had a ‘purpose’ when He was on earth, and He accomplished that purpose.
We will read from Matthew 26:1-2.
Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples: “You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
This verse is a confirmation from the Lord Jesus to His disciples about His 'purpose'. He has a “purpose,” which is to sacrifice Himself as a ransom for all of us so that we might be saved (Luke 9:28-31).
When Jesus was glorified on the mountain, His purpose was spoken of, that He would be a ransom for us all, and He did not flee from that purpose.
CONCLUSION
It is good for us to fight to achieve our goal, regardless of the risks or costs. When we reach the finish line, we will smile because we have achieved our goal of life, which is the ‘Glorious Heaven’.
