LONGING FOR GOD’S VISIT (2)

INTRODUCTION

The Lord wants to visit believers (His people) - Luke 1:68.

“Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited and redeemed His people....”

He also visits the unbelievers (1 Peter 2:12).

“Having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.”

CONTENT

The impacts of God's visitation:

1.      There is redemption (Luke 1:68).

2.      There is growth/increase in the quality of worship (Luke 1:74, 75).

“To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life”.

3.      The awareness of glorifying God (Luke 7:16).

Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen up among us”; and “God has visited His people.”

  • People will be aware of God's presence.

  • This is called Spiritual revival.

4.      Personal transformation will take place -> People will repent and receive salvation (Luke 19:5, 9).

(5) “And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

(9) And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham”.

5.      A Missionary Movement will arise (John 4:39).

  • There will be many people who will surrender themselves to be used by God.

  • They will proclaim what Christ has done in their lives.

CONCLUSION

Do not be like the high priests, who are so full of their own perception that they do not see God visiting them (His Church) - Matthew 21:15.
