LONGING FOR GOD'S VISIT

INTRODUCTION

Keep praying and don't give up. " Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1).

Why does God want us to keep praying?

1.      As a statement of our faith in Him

We pray to the Lord Jesus Christ because we believe in Him. He is the One who can help us, because He is the God of gods, the Lord of the universe, the Creator of all.

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us" (Ephesians 3:20).

2.      As a form of our humbleness before God.

We realise that our abilities are limited, we need God who has unlimited abilities, that's why we must pray to Him. HE is the God who is able to do anything, more than what we think.

“O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”.” (2 Chronicles 20:12).

3.      As a means of our relationship with God

How can we communicate with God? One of them is through prayer. Prayer is a method for us to build a relationship with God, so that we can become close to HIM.

“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9).

“In this manner, therefore, pray: our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.” (Matthew 6:9).

4.      As a thanksgiving to God

By praying, we can express our gratitude to God.

That is why it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18: “pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

CONCLUSION

Keep praying and don't give up because every prayer that is offered will bring the favor and blessing of the LORD.
