STEP INTO THE PROMISE OF GOD (3)

INTRODUCTION

We continue with our theme: "7 ENEMIES OBSTRUCTING THE JOURNEY TO THE PROMISED LAND" (Deuteronomy 7:1-3). For us, these “seven tribes” represent “different types of obstacles” in our lives. Therefore, “these seven tribes” must be conquered.

CONTENT

Furthermore, these 2 tribes were enemies who prevented the Israelites from entering the Promised Land:

  1. The Sixth Nation: ‘Hivites’

Hivites means comfort in Greek. But if you want to be a true Christian, start fighting, start struggling against the enemy, against these tribes.

    • Then you will see your sins being wiped out of your life one by one.

    • This comfort may have to do with money and material things. Be careful with money, because comfort cannot always be bought with money. But pure comfort can only be found in the word of God (James 4:4).

  2. The seventh nation: ‘Jebusites’

Jebusites means pollution, conflict, bound by sin.

    • Let it not be that you are defeated and pressurized by the Jebusites, but you must fight against the Jebusites and prove that with God you are able to endure anything.

    • Let there be no more pollution (Colossians 3:5).

    • Slay our fleshly nature, our worldliness, our old man, only then will our new man be seen and felt. If our flesh does not die, our new man will not be realized (1 Peter 1:14-16).

    • We must be made like the image and after the likeness of Him who is holy.

CONCLUSION

If you want the devil to run away from you, submit to God and you can overcome the devil (James 4:7).
