CONFIDENCE IN GOD (5)
INTRODUCTION
In order for us to believe more in God, we need to have experience with God (John 21:1-14).
CONTENT
A. God will remind us.
From the story we read today, the disciples actually had an experience that was almost similar to this incident (Luke 5:1-11). At that time, the Lord Jesus also commanded His disciples to let down their nets, by which they caught many fish.
Let us think about the importance of having experience. There is a saying that goes, "Experience is the best teacher."
A personal experience with the Lord will make us realize that the Lord is all around us. The disciples did not realize that the person standing on the beach was Jesus, they were busy with their routine work. But when the Lord used their first experience, they realized that it was the Lord.
B. God has promised to be with us always (Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5b).
When we learn the truth of God's Word and know Him properly, we will start to have real experiences with Him. These experiences are not always about visions, dreams, prophecies, etc., but experiences in everyday life including through big problems and small problems.
Let's be aware that each of us can have personal experiences with God every day that will always make us realize that God is with us and make us know Him better.
C. Building a Relationship (Luke 24:35)
The meaning of knowing the Lord is not just knowing who our Lord is, but it speaks of an intimate and true relationship with the Lord and produces a personal experience with the Lord and the fruit of repentance, for when we come to know the Lord there will be a character change: “Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:” (Matthew 3:8).
We need to have the knowledge of the Lord, having constant fellowship with the Lord, because this is not going to happen automatically; there has to be an effort to continue building this up in our lives. Therefore, have constant intimacy with the Lord, so that we may be known by the Lord (1 Corinthians 8:3).
CONCLUSION
A personal experience with God will not only make us realize that Jesus is with us, but it will also bring us to know HIM more and our faith will be stronger so that it will not be shaken by any problems.
